Zombie watch!!

This morning I looked outside my window to find this:

I have acquired scientific proof that zombies retain certain skills they had when they were alive even after death. This zombie, let's call him Fred, was scraping the windows of an old Chevy Blazer this chilly morning.
Unfortunately, he saw me and started walking towards me.

He almost had me, but I was able to shut my door just in the nick of time.

Be careful out there! There could be more of them anywhere!
Anyway, I have a few small updates today but should be able to post more details later.
Thank you! More updates to come.
Watch out for zombies!
XOXO Cori

Commission two: status - complete + turtles

Update!
Commission two: status - complete
My friend Tim has a skeleton collection, so he asked me to crochet one for him.

I hope you like him, Tim!
I am really happy with how he turned out and kind of want to make one for myself, and perhaps for the Etsy store???
I also realized that we have a small skeleton collection that I wasn't even trying for. We just like them apparently. I will take pictures of them soon.
I have been doing projects on the side because I have adult crafty ADD and can't just work on one project at a time, so I made turtles.

I got the patterns from this book so unfortunately I can't sell them (sorry everyone who asked if they could buy one) but I would like to develop my own turtle patterns so I can sell them.

I love twertles

I am currently working on pot holders and should probably work on some more zombies (people and animals) for a potential viewing I have coming up that I hope to get more information on very soon.
Jesse introduced me to a game called Alchemy on our smart phones. You start out with the four basic elements (earth, air, fire, water) and combine them to make more elements. For example, earth combined with water makes swamp. Fire and air makes energy. Energy and swamp makes life, etc. There are apparently 360 total elements possible in the game. Jess and I are having a contest to see who can get the most elements by Saturday. We haven't agreed on what the winner gets yet (probably something like the loser has to do the dishes), but we're having fun! The game is pretty addicting and I've already made a bicycle, a zombie, Mario and Santa Claus.
I am also hoping so very much for a blizzard so I can have a damn snow day and have no excuse but to work on projects. Sorry people, I don't care. I want my damn snow day full of yarn, hot chocolate, snugly animals and movies. Sounds wonderful.

Commission One: Status - Complete

Before I begin, I would like to add another item to my goal list - buy more dresses and cardigans and wear them. A lot.
I've started to realize just how much I like dresses. They are comfortable. They are pretty. They make me feel like a girl. Always a good thing.
This is the polka dot dress and red cardigan I am wearing today:

(Sorry about the picture. It's really hard to take a full length photo of yourself)
Well, here's a picture of the top half of it, anyway. I should get up earlier so I have time to do something with my hair.
Anyway, I have been working on my commission goal and have completed the first one. I am working in the order I receive the requests. This was requested by my friend Cameron as a gift to his son. Behold! The heroes of
Left 4 Dead 2!

This is Nick the gambler. Nick is a drifter who doesn't trust anyone. Here he is armed with a sniper rifle and a magnum (again, sorry for the photos. It's always too dark to take pictures by the time I get home from work).

This is Rochelle the producer. Rochelle has a low-level job at a big-name news station who got her big break when the zombie apocalypse broke out. She is armed with an axe and an AK-47.

This is Coach, the coach. Coach teaches a health class at the local high school in his hometown of Savannah. Working as a defensive coordinator for the freshmen team has helped him guide the group of survivors to safety. Coach is armed with a desert rifle and a chainsaw.

This is Ellis the mechanic. Ellis loves life, his mother, and any dare that will impress his friends. He thinks of the zombie apocalypse as one big dare and is making the most out of it. Ellis is armed with a grenade launcher and his guitar.

These guys were really fun to make. I used the basic body and head pattern from Christen Haden's book Creepy Cute Crochet and altered the rest to fit the heroes. The hair was hard to do and getting all the felt weapons to stay together was a challenge, but I think they turned out awesome.
After my commissions are done, I might have to take a break from them for awhile. I apologize to anyone who wanted to request one, but I need more time to work on new items for my
Etsy shop and have a few new opportunities coming up which I will write about later.
I have had a few baby items requested that I might have to fit in somewhere though, because almost everyone I know is either pregnant or just had a baby and baby stuff is irresistable. Plus, they only stay babies for a short time.
Next up is my friend Tim's crocheted skeleton.
Although, now I kind of have an urge to play Left 4 Dead 2...
XOXO
