Warning: I am in a bratty mood and I've had coffee and lack of sleep

I've had trouble sleeping the last couple of nights. It doesn't help that there has been a rash of burglaries (where they come into your open windows at night while you are sleeping) in close proximity of my neighborhood and I am overly paranoid. I've been robbed before which has made my paranoia reasonable (before I was just paranoid because I am crazy). But we didn't have much to steal except a crappy hand-me-down laptop and my husband's SLR camera. Ha! Joke's on you, stupid robber! Bet you wished you picked on someone else who has something worth stealing instead of a house full of handmade shit!
It's usually just me since my husband goes to work at 11:30 pm, so I pretty much only have my bathroom window open at night so if someone were to break in, they would trip over my sleeping dog who lays right in front of the bathroom door so whenever I need to go to the bathroom half asleep at 4 am, I always trip over him. Hopefully Gus would bite out of reflex. That would be awesome.
Anyway, I kept hearing noises and have to go investigate (it's usually the cat vomiting on the carpet) or just lay there tired but unable to fall asleep for some reason. I've been reading a lot. Usually when I am just about to fall asleep, that's when the baby wakes up and wants me to come in to his room just to make sure I am still here, or whatever reason he has for disturbing my almost slumber. Shoot me.
I stay up waaaaaaaaaay too late because the only time I get to myself is when Sam goes to sleep. Then I am worthless the whole next day and have to drink pot-fulls of coffee. Is that correct, pot-fulls? I don't know. I'm tired. Give me a break.
It took me all morning to write one paragraph.
Of course, I got distracted looking at cat coffee mugs on cafepress.com. That didn't help.
Vomiting Cat Mug
I spilled oatmeal on my pajama pants this morning, and now I've gone and spilled Cholula hot sauce on them. Husband is calling me "Oat-a-lula pants." I think it's time to get out of the pajamas.
Sooooooooooo, sorry I haven't been posting a lot lately. I've actually been making a lot of presents and can't really post them without ruining the surprise. I forgot to take a picture, but I made this hat for my cousin-in-law's soon-to-be-born baby:

She already had her baby shower so it's ok to show this. Besides, I doubt she reads this blog.
I am also trying to get this sweater done before Sam outgrows it:

That takes up a lot of time. So give me a break! I haven't made anything I can show in awhile.
Plus, I hate summer. Since I got out of school and can no longer enjoy summer break, I have no use for summer. It's suppose to be a time for relaxation and vacation, but everyone and their grandma has a birthday in the summer or decides to have a BBQ or other events and I don't have time to breathe. Forget trying to plan something yourself. EVERYONE will already have something else to do that day. EVERYONE.
I am allergic to the sun, so this heat makes me feel like a tiny construction worker is constantly taking a jackhammer to my temple while making me drink tequila until the room starts to spin and I projectile vomit like a sprinkler.
Although the rain we've been getting has been pretty nice (as long as our power doesn't go out). No watering the garden for me!! Hooray!
I am currently addicted to this game which also doesn't help me get anything done:

I blame my friend Kellie. She's the one who got me addicted. Thank you, Kellie :) I love this damn game. So fun! If you get a chance or need something to do, I highly recommend it. Play it and be my friend!
Anyway, my house is in dire need of cleaning, I have presents to purchase and/or make, a dog to exercise, events to attend, poopy diapers to change, meals to prepare, etc. etc. Hopefully tonight I can have wonderful reality-escaping dreams where I don't have to be a functioning adult and other people have to take care of me. Because I am the Queen of Hearts who doesn't behead anyone, unless they really annoy me. And I can have as many donuts as I want in The Simpsons Tapped Out and don't have to pay real money for them (because I refuse to spend real money on artificial donuts in a game even though I am really tempted to so I can get Abraham Lincoln's log cabin).
   Good night, sweet dreams.

New Stuff and Monster Birthday

'Ello!
So, got son's 1st birthday party done with so now I can start working on the commissions that have been piling up and, hopefully, get to work on my detailed zombie pattern. Woo hoo!!
First, a few pictures from Sam's party:
Sam's birthday banner
Here's the birthday boy wearing the onesie Mommy made him
Fruit Monster (idea stolen from Pinterest)
Monster Cake (idea also stolen from Pinterest)
(Yes, this is also stolen from Pinterest)
Dip Monster
Monster Sandwiches (yup, Pinterest)
Monster Decorations (from Rebecca Danger)

And cute Sam with cake on his face
Happy Birthday little one! I hope you had fun even though you probably had no idea what was going on.
On to the new stuff. So I made some more voodoo dolls for the shop, but this time they are girls:

You can find them all here.

Hooray!! Hopefully Sam will be able to entertain himself more so Mommy can get some work done. We'll see :P
Happy Mother's Day!
XOXO

New pattern and an announcement!

Hello!
How are things?
Well, I have a new pattern available. Meet the Gentleman Specter:
He is a dapper fellow with his top hat and scarf. Or you could give him a dunce cap, a cowboy hat, or you could give him a bow and make him a her. He'll be adorable no matter what!
I also have a monster pattern available:
I think I forgot to post about him. This guy here in the picture lives with us. These monsters are great for keeping babies company (as long as you don't use buttons or anything else that could be dangerous for little ones).

Anyway, now for my announcement:
I'm going to try to develop a very detailed zombie pattern to sell!!! Yay!

I've gotten enough requests for it that I've decided to try to write a pattern for it. I didn't want to do it before because I've made up some of the stitches and it's a bit more advanced that the beginner crocheter would have difficulty and I was worried that people would have a hard time understanding it. But, I'll try and just add plenty of pictures :)
But be forewarned - it's not for the faint of heart! Do not attempt unless you are experienced!
(As always, these patterns are for personal use only. Do not sell anything you make using my patterns)
That also means that I will be able to make a pattern for this guy too:
Yay Pumpkinheads!!
I have a lot more sketches in my notebook to make patterns for, so keep checking back for more!
I've gotten a good start on Sam's monster nursery thanks to Rebecca Danger so I'll have to post some pictures when I get more taken, but here's a sneak peek:
Sorry, it's nightime so the lighting isn't the greatest.
I'm planning on making a monster theme for Sam's first birthday (holy-crap-he-is-almost-one!!) so all of these monsters will come in handy. Since he is so young and doesn't know what is going on anyway, I want to keep his first birthday simple and am only going to have our immediate family there. Then when he's older we can do a fun all-of-Sam's-friends-attending birthday party. I hope I don't offend anyone, I just really want to keep things simple for this one. And I don't want to freak him out (my husband's family is HUGE and he knows a lot of people. A LOT). But I'll try to take lots of pictures!
Here's a sample of the party invite I made:
Then I'll add the info at the bottom. Monsters are cute.
Alrighty, I better get to bed. I've been staying up way too late. Hope you have a great week!
